Finance Specialist, Accounting & Reporting

About the role

Sanoma's Accounting Services department provides accounting and reporting services to its subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local accounting and tax regulations. It is looking for a Finance Specialist, Accounting & Reporting to strengthen its Sanoma Learning Nordic & Group Accounting Services team in Sanomatalo, Helsinki. The role covers statutory and tax reporting for several legal entities within the Sanoma Group.

Key responsibilities

• Statutory and tax reporting for a number of legal entities within the Sanoma Group
• Monthly month-end closing, ensuring quality and timely reporting of financial results in HFM, reconciling accounts and performing key controls
• Preparation of financial statements and tax filings
• First point of contact for internal and external auditors and coordination of local tax audits
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and other finance colleagues, providing local accounting and tax expertise
• Improve local accounting, tax and reporting processes and take part in finance development projects, such as the rollout of new finance systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance or a similar field
• More than five years of experience in accounting or audit in an international company
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP and tax
• English and Finnish, with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Basic IFRS knowledge
• Experience with SAP, preferably S/4HANA
