Business Operations Specialist, Finance & Transaction Operations

About the role

Virta, a full-service software and services company for electric vehicle charging, is looking for a Business Operations Specialist, Finance & Transaction Operations in Helsinki. The role focuses on transaction-related finance operations and data-driven business operations, ensuring the quality, accuracy and usability of financial and operational transaction data for internal stakeholders and B2B customers. It suits a data-oriented professional who combines analytical thinking with hands-on technical skills in Python, Snowflake, SQL and databases.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, validate and manage accurate transaction and financial data daily and monthly for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor data flows, reconcile transactions and investigate exceptions and anomalies.
• Analyse financial and operational data to support reporting, business decisions and process improvements.
• Run and maintain data queries, scripts and workflows used in transaction operations and reporting.
• Work with large datasets in Snowflake and SQL-based environments.
• Develop and improve Python scripts, automations and checks for operational efficiency and data quality.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, Operations and other teams to keep transaction data complete, consistent and actionable.
• Handle recurring operational tasks, including daily follow-up and monthly reporting, and identify root causes of data issues and bottlenecks.
• Maintain documentation and use Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics or a related field.
• 2-4+ years of experience in business operations, finance operations, transaction operations, data operations or a similar role.
• Experience with financial, transactional or reconciliation-related data.
• Fluent English and relevant working rights in Finland.
• Plus: fintech, payments, billing or invoicing experience; EV charging, roaming or fleet charging knowledge; familiarity with Jira and Confluence; understanding of finance systems, reporting or audit controls; experience with automation and process development.
