Graduate Engineer, Network Solutions

About the role

Skylo is looking for a graduate engineer to join its Protocol Stack team in Espoo. You will work on 5G NR‑NTN upper‑layer and core‑interface protocols, building and validating software that connects the satellite network to mobile operator cores.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain C++ implementations of PDCP, eGTP‑U/C, XnAP and NGAP protocols.
• Adapt PDCP for NTN specifics such as extended sequence numbers and long‑delay reordering.
• Create test cases, simulation harnesses and automation to verify protocol behaviour against 3GPP specifications.
• Debug interface‑layer issues using packet captures, Wireshark, tcpdump and GDB.

Required profile

• Strong C++ programming skills with understanding of memory management and the standard library.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or a related field.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, 5G/LTE architecture and Linux development.
• Ability to read 3GPP specifications and translate them into software requirements.
