Quality Engineering Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Engineering Lead to join the Player Platform team, owning quality strategy and execution across Supercell Store, Supercell ID, and Supercell’s web presence. In this role you will shape and lead the quality function for systems that touch every player and game team, from real‑money commerce to account identity to public‑facing web properties.

Key responsibilities

• Own the QA strategy across Player Platform products and decide where manual testing, automation, and monitoring each pay off.
• Lead the shift from manual‑first testing to automation and AI‑assisted testing, working hands‑on with teams.
• Get involved early in design and implementation, pushing for testability and clear failure modes.
• Build and scale test automation with engineering, embedding quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
• Extend quality practices into production using monitoring and real‑signal validation.
• Partner with game‑team engineering and QA to push end‑to‑end automated testing across games.
• Define release readiness criteria and lead go/no‑go decisions for player‑facing launches.
• Lead and grow the quality team, including hiring and mentoring.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with test automation and AI‑assisted testing tools.
• Proficiency in a modern programming language and familiarity with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices.
• Strong foundation in core testing principles: test design, risk‑based prioritization, defect lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to build deep technical understanding of system internals and identify high‑risk areas.
• Experience transforming a manual‑first QA practice toward automation.
• Experience leading QA or test engineering for production systems at scale.
• Ability to influence engineering decisions across teams using credibility and technical judgment.
• Experience testing mobile (Android/iOS) and web surfaces.
• People leadership or mentoring experience.
