Wilderness Guide

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Wilderness Guide to join Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä. The role involves leading guests on unforgettable outdoor experiences under the aurora borealis, ensuring safety and delivering high‑quality service in a winter wilderness setting.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests and provide warm equipment along with safety briefings.
• Lead outdoor activities and excursions tailored to guests’ skill levels.
• Ensure guest safety, provide first‑aid when needed, and monitor wellbeing.
• Share knowledge of local flora, fauna, geography and culture.
• Teach basic wilderness skills and assist guests in photographing the northern lights.
• Maintain equipment, cabin cleanliness and report any incidents.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a wilderness or adventure guide (or similar role).
• Valid B‑class driving licence.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Current first‑aid certification.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays in cold outdoor conditions.
