Senior Business Development Manager – BESS

About the role

The Senior Business Development Manager – BESS will drive sales and market expansion for utility‑scale Battery Energy Storage Systems and PV solutions in Finland. You will work onsite with cross‑functional teams to secure major projects from pipeline to contract.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop opportunities with IPPs, utilities, developers, EPCs, investors and large energy users for BESS and solar inverter projects.
• Create and execute strategic sales plans aligned with customer needs and company growth objectives.
• Build long‑term relationships with key customers, partners, consultants, TSOs/DSOs and industry stakeholders.
• Lead commercial aspects of projects, understand business cases, market drivers and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with solution, engineering, legal and delivery teams to deliver competitive, bankable proposals.
• Manage tender processes including RFI/RFP review, bid strategy, negotiation and contract discussions.
• Monitor market trends, regulations, grid code developments and competitor activities in the Finnish BESS and renewable energy sectors.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in energy, renewables, storage or infrastructure sales.
• Strong understanding of utility‑scale BESS and PV markets, project development cycles and commercial structures.
• Good knowledge of Finnish renewable energy regulations and grid environment.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage senior customer relationships.
• Excellent English and fluent Finnish communication skills.
