Quality Engineer - Port Cranes

About the role

Konecranes is looking for a Quality Engineer to join its Quality team in the Continuous Improvement department, covering the Quay and Horizontal & Yard businesses. The engineer works with project teams to ensure high-quality deliveries for global customers, manages nonconformities, performs root cause analyses and drives corrective and preventive actions. The position is based in Hyvinkää, Finland, with on-site work two days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays) and remote work on other days, plus occasional global business travel of about 20-40 days per year.

Key responsibilities

• Manage nonconformities for assigned projects with internal and external stakeholders
• Carry out root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement of quality for the assigned product
• Prepare Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) protocols based on customer specifications and Konecranes standards
• Conduct on-site inspections at selected suppliers according to the ITP
• Support suppliers in meeting quality expectations and occasionally inspect at customer sites
• Lead small development initiatives related to the product area or quality processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, industrial or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience in quality management
• Previous experience in nonconformity handling, quality assurance and quality control
• Fluent written and spoken English; Finnish is beneficial
• Target-oriented, with strong analytical and communication skills, and able to work in a global environment
• Knowledge of products in the container-handling industry is an asset

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods (an advantage)
