Project Lead Engineer - Substations

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY is looking for a Project Lead Engineer to join its Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service business in Vaasa, Finland. The role leads the engineering work for complete substations used in distribution and transmission grids, typically electric power installations in the 10-400 kV range.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and drive the project engineering team to deliver results according to contractual agreements, quality standards, HSE requirements, financial targets and schedule commitments.
• Manage engineering coordination with customers, sub-suppliers and internal and external partners.
• Plan and manage engineering resources following Hitachi Energy's governance procedure.
• Communicate with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify risks and opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• At least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in engineering, R&D or project management positions.
• Experience with medium to high voltage projects in power systems.
• Fluent English, written and spoken; Finnish and/or Swedish is a strong advantage.
• Site work experience is an advantage.
