Service Engineer - Marine Elevators

About the role

KONE Marine, a business unit of KONE, supplies marine elevators, escalators and people flow solutions for cruise ships, ferries and cargo vessels. It is looking for a Service Engineer in Hyvinkää to provide expert technical support to its maintenance organisation, resolve complex equipment issues and share knowledge across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Solve complex technical problems beyond the Maintenance Technician's capability
• Perform first visits on unknown equipment, including competitor equipment
• Support installation-to-maintenance handovers and identify technical competence gaps
• Communicate new technical issues that may cause call-outs or safety hazards
• Provide feedback to improve products, methods and safety
• Plan workload effectively and report work accurately; manage proximity stock and keep tools and equipment in good condition
• Raise sales leads and communicate improvement opportunities
• Ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality service and proactive communication, and maintain good relationships with customers and end-users on site
• Identify site risks and act immediately when necessary, and perform unplanned service repairs when approved by the customer
• Coach and train Maintenance Technicians on root causes and solutions, and share updates on new maintenance methodologies
• Collaborate with installation teams and technical support

Required profile

• Strong technical troubleshooting skills with experience in lifts or similar technology
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Commitment to safety and adherence to quality standards
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge within the team
• Willingness to travel frequently, adapting to changing schedules and flight delays
