Key Account Manager – Icebreakers & Government Projects

About the role

Helsinki Shipyard is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead strategic relationships for icebreaker and governmental projects. You will shape early‑stage opportunities, influence decisions before formal tenders, and position the shipyard as the preferred partner for high‑value contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long‑term account strategies that align client fleet plans with Helsinki Shipyard’s growth objectives.
• Own executive relationships across customer organisations, including top‑level management.
• Lead tender and proposal processes, collaborating with vessel‑segment, cost‑estimation and design teams to create competitive offers.
• Conduct commercial negotiations and manage bidding activities to secure profitable contracts.
• Coordinate technical, design and sustainability aspects of new ship concepts.
• Identify and cultivate new leads to expand the sales pipeline.

Required profile

• Proven experience in governmental projects or icebreaker programmes.
• Strong business mindset with a focus on commercial growth.
• Background in ship concept design and ability to guide multidisciplinary project teams.
