Frontend Engineer (Agentic AI Platform)

About the role

Trimble is building a foundational Agentic AI Platform to power next-generation applications, and is looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to build the user interfaces behind sophisticated AI agents. The role involves designing and implementing features, developing a core UI library and collaborating with backend engineers, UX/UI designers and AI researchers. It is an in-office role (4 days per week in the office, 1 day can be remote) with minimal travel, open to Espoo (Finland), Bodegraven (Netherlands) or Brasov (Romania).

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and deploy user-facing features and internal tools with modern frontend technologies.
• Develop a core UI library and reusable components for AI agents and their tooling.
• Write high-quality, maintainable and well-tested code, and improve monitoring, logging and alerting for the front end.
• Take part in code reviews and contribute to technical design and architecture discussions.
• Evaluate and prototype new technologies, and own the implementation of specific features.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Research and other engineering teams, share knowledge and document designs and processes.
• Mentor junior engineers, troubleshoot production issues and help improve the scalability, performance, security and usability of the platform's interfaces.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience specializing in frontend development.
• Experience building and deploying responsive, performant user interfaces.
• Interest in or experience with AI/ML concepts, especially Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience with software development best practices (testing frameworks, CI/CD, monitoring, code reviews).

Required skills

• Deep proficiency in TypeScript, React and TailwindCSS.
• Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with system design and architecture.
• Bonus points: building a UI library or component system from scratch, developer tools for AI/ML or data platforms, agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex), vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate), RAG, state management (Zustand, Redux), Vite/Webpack, and frontend performance optimization.
