Construction Logistics Lead (Data Centre, Vaala)

About the role

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Logistics Lead for its Data Centre team in Vaala, Finland. This is a full-time, client-facing, construction-site-based role within a professional team working on major hyperscale projects. The position takes responsibility for logistics strategy, vendor management and delivery coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics strategies for materials such as steel, concrete, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with specifications and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including freight forwarding, customs clearance and site delivery.
• Oversee staging, storage and just-in-time delivery to minimise site congestion.
• Collaborate with construction managers and engineering teams to align logistics with project phases.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies such as buffer stock and alternative sourcing.
• Use ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and construction platforms to track procurement and delivery.
• Maintain dashboards and reports for stakeholders on logistics performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or a related field.
• 10-15 years in logistics or supply chain roles, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with data centre or large-scale industrial projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, customs regulations and construction logistics.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, and ability to manage multiple vendors and coordinate across teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and project management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
