Compliance & Assurance Lead - Motion IS

About the role

The MO IS Compliance & Assurance Lead leads audit coordination, assurance, regulatory readiness, compliance governance and continuous improvement across Motion IS. Reporting to the MO IS Operational Excellence Lead, the role acts as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on governance, risk, audit and compliance, aligned with ABB requirements and frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ISO 27001 and IIA Standards. It works closely with Internal Audit, External Audit, Legal, Core IS, Division IS, Local IS and business stakeholders. The work is hybrid, based in Vaasa, Finland or Bangalore, India.

Key responsibilities

• Lead internal and external audit engagements, ensure audit readiness, manage evidence quality and drive sustainable closure of findings
• Provide independent challenge and oversight of controls, remediation plans and governance decisions, and report to senior leadership
• Establish governance mechanisms and lead readiness for regulatory requirements with Legal, Compliance and business stakeholders
• Monitor adherence to ABB policies and frameworks and foster a risk-based compliance culture
• Identify control gaps, assess risk exposure and validate remediation effectiveness
• Support teams in turning regulatory and governance requirements into practical controls, and support GRC activities for acquisitions and divestitures
• Act as a mentor and advisor to stakeholders across Audit, Compliance, Legal, Risk, IS and business functions

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, information security, risk management, audit, business administration or a related field
• 10-12 years of progressive experience in IT governance, audit and assurance, risk management, compliance and internal controls
• Proven experience managing complex compliance, regulatory, audit and transformation initiatives; experience with acquisitions and divestitures is a plus
• Ability to influence outcomes in complex global organizations, with strong communication and executive reporting skills
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor, COBIT, CIA or ITIL 4 are preferred
