IT Operations Specialist

About the role

As the IT Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for architecting, scaling, and maintaining Skylo's internal IT infrastructure, corporate networks, and employee productivity tools. You will act as a senior technical anchor bridging day‑to‑day corporate IT operations with the advanced needs of our cross‑continental engineering and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own, monitor, and scale Skylo's global IT footprint across offices in the US, Finland, and India, managing cloud productivity suites (Google Workspace/Enterprise) and essential SaaS tools such as Slack, Jira/Confluence, GitHub, and Zoom.
• Design and optimize role‑based access controls and user lifecycle workflows via modern IAM platforms (e.g., Okta) and manage a distributed mixed‑OS fleet using MDM solutions (Jamf, Kandji, Intune).
• Implement and maintain robust corporate office network infrastructure, ensuring maximum uptime and security with firewalls, VPNs, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), VLANs, and Wi‑Fi 6.
• Partner with InfoSec and Network Engineering to enforce security frameworks, maintain compliance documentation, and ensure audit readiness for SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
• Identify manual, repetitive workflows and create automated, self‑service solutions using scripting languages and generative AI tools.
• Provide Tier 3 support for complex corporate IT issues, maintaining strict service‑level objectives while delivering high‑touch support to global staff and leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience in an IT Systems/Infrastructure role handling mid‑to‑large scale environments.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and office productivity tools, including Google Workspace, Okta, Jira/Confluence, Slack, Office 365 and IT asset management.
• Minimum 3 + years in IT Service Desk / Technical Support with escalation handling experience.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN/Wi‑Fi troubleshooting) and familiarity with firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal oversight in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment.
