Software Engineer (Satellite Payload Downlink)

About the role

As a Software Engineer you will ensure that data from ICEYE’s SAR satellite constellation reaches the ground reliably and at scale. You will work on the payload downlink pipeline, handling decoding, error correction, decryption and routing of satellite data. The role is critical for keeping the global ground‑station network delivering complete, timely data to downstream processing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain components of the payload downlink pipeline, including decoding, error correction, decryption and routing.
• Anticipate edge cases and design for reliability in a distributed, latency‑sensitive environment.
• Debug and resolve production issues with support from senior engineers.
• Write clean, tested, maintainable code in Go or a comparable language.
• Collaborate with ground‑station, downlink and downstream data teams to ensure end‑to‑end data flow.

Required profile

• Proven professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems, with production‑grade instincts.
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills, and ability to work with AI/LLM tools to accelerate development.

Required skills

• Go (or comparable statically typed language).
• Containerisation with Docker.
• Relational databases, e.g., PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS (nice to have).
• Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines or GitOps workflows.
• Knowledge of streaming or high‑throughput data pipelines.
• Use of AI/LLM tools for software development.
