Senior Software Engineer, Console

About the role

Aiven is looking for a senior frontend‑focused full‑stack engineer to work on the Aiven Console, the primary web UI through which users explore and control data services. The role combines product‑mindset, technical leadership, and hands‑on development to deliver an intuitive experience for both new and experienced users.

Key responsibilities

• Own implementation of platform‑wide Console features such as navigation, onboarding, and service‑creation flows.
• Develop and maintain the in‑house design system that powers Console UI development.
• Drive technical improvements to keep the Console’s foundation robust and scalable.
• Extend API functionality when required by new feature specifications.

Required profile

• Product‑oriented engineer interested in business impact and user behavior.
• Proactive in proposing product ideas, trade‑offs, and understanding the “why” behind decisions.
• Strong communicator with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Provides technical mentorship and raises the engineering bar for the team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Experience with Redux for state management.
• Backend knowledge of Python and PostgreSQL.
• Track record of leading planning, implementation, and rollout of web‑facing features.
