Technical R&D Project Manager - FACTS (NPI)

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for an experienced Technical R&D Project Manager to join its global FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) New Product Introduction (NPI) team, reporting to the Global FACTS NPI Leader. Based in the Tampere Solution Line office, you will lead high-impact NPI and New Technology Introduction (NTI) programs for STATCOM solutions. Your main focus is project execution, while also acting as a technical partner to the project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of complex, large-scale R&D and NPI programs from initiation to delivery
• Maintain strict control over project scope, costs and schedules
• Navigate a global, cross-functional, multi-located team and align internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to the development of power electronics and control systems and provide technical leadership
• Use established R&D processes, problem-solving methods and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Imagine 2
• Prioritize competing projects around customer value and long-term business goals

Required profile

• Track record managing R&D projects, preferably in power electronics, control systems or high-voltage transmission
• Experience with power electronics devices and some prior R&D project management experience
• Ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary international teams through influence and consensus-building
• Solid understanding of power systems, control platforms and product development lifecycles
• Excellent written and spoken English, able to explain complex technical topics
• Good understanding of power electronics, MMC products, valves, STATCOMs, HVDC or other IGBT-based products
• Previous experience or certification in cybersecurity protocols for industrial systems is an asset
