Project Associate – Return, Readmission & Reintegration

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Finland seeks a Project Associate to support its Return, Readmission and Reintegration programme, with a particular focus on repatriation activities. The role reports to the Programme Coordinator and works closely with headquarters, regional offices and other IOM missions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Maintain budget oversight, verify fund availability, obtain approvals and update financial information.
• Act as the focal point for administrative coordination, liaising with internal units and external partners to process requests, secure clearances and follow‑up on project deliverables.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., Political Science, International Relations, Migration Studies) with at least three years of professional experience.
• Experience working with governmental authorities, UN agencies or NGOs on migration‑related programmes.
• Familiarity with results‑based management, financial rules and donor compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for financial and case management.
• Ability to monitor cases, record beneficiary data accurately and resolve payment discrepancies.
