Lead Data Center Cooling Engineer

About the role

Ramboll is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer (data center cooling) to join its Data Center Facilities department in the Nordics group covering Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway. The role works with clients on data center solutions and sits within a global network of more than 150 data center specialists. Work is done in a flexible hybrid model, combining office, home and online work, with travel as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of data center cooling and HVAC infrastructure.
• Develop thermal management solutions for AI, HPC, hyperscale and colocation facilities.
• Ensure cooling systems meet resilience, efficiency, sustainability and uptime targets.
• Mentor engineering teams across multiple projects.
• Advise clients on cooling strategy, liquid cooling adoption and future-ready data center design.

Required profile

• Experience designing or constructing data center facilities.
• Experience as a consulting mechanical engineer.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to clients and project partners, verbally and in writing.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of digital design delivery through Revit/BIM 360.
