HR Trainee

About the role

Vaisala is looking for a motivated HR Trainee to join its Total Rewards, Global Mobility and Talent Management team at the headquarters in Vantaa, Finland. This 12‑month fixed‑term role offers hands‑on experience in compensation, talent management and employer branding within a global, purpose‑driven organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Support the annual salary review, incentive planning and EU Pay Transparency implementation through data preparation, analysis and communication.
• Assist with salary benchmarking, range development and contribute to job grading and architecture discussions.
• Develop compensation materials such as manager guidance and training content.
• Plan and coordinate student and employer branding activities, including collaborations with student guilds and talent‑group visits.
• Take an active role in the Giant Leap internship programme, organising events, workshops and community activities for interns.
• Contribute to recruitment, onboarding and learning‑and‑development initiatives as needed.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate in HR, Business or a related field.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
• Comfortable working with Excel and able to handle large data sets.
• Excellent organisational and collaboration abilities, preferably with event‑coordination experience.
• Proactive, curious and a growth mindset, eager to explore AI tools in daily work.
• Fluent in English.
