Global AI Transformation & Solutions Lead - Pulp & Paper
AFRY · Vantaa
Job description
About the role
AFRY, a European leader in engineering, design and advisory services, is looking for a hands-on, business-minded AI leader to accelerate AI transformation across its global Pulp & Paper segment. The role is not primarily strategic or coordinating: it is about turning business problems into working solutions, from prototype to scaled adoption. It sits under the Global Head of Segment Pulp & Paper, based in Spain, and can be based in Brazil, Canada, Finland, the United States, Spain or Sweden; candidates must have the right to work in at least one of these countries.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the AI strategy, roadmap and portfolio for the global Pulp & Paper segment.
- Identify and prioritise high-value AI opportunities across engineering, project delivery and client operations.
- Develop, prototype, test and implement AI solutions with engineers, domain experts and technology specialists.
- Embed AI into engineering and project-delivery workflows to improve productivity, quality, knowledge reuse and decision-making.
- Turn AFRY's Pulp & Paper knowledge into reusable AI-enabled tools and scalable offerings for regional teams to take to their clients.
- Build AI capability and drive adoption across the global organisation, with regional teams owning client relationships and commercial execution.
- Ensure solutions respect data quality, cybersecurity, intellectual property, governance and responsible AI, and measure success by adoption and business value rather than the number of pilots.
Required profile
- Strong hands-on experience applying AI, generative AI, machine learning, automation and data technologies to real business or industrial challenges.
- Experience moving AI solutions from concept and prototype through implementation, adoption and scale.
- Ability to translate business or client problems into practical digital products and scalable solutions.
- Technical depth to work credibly with AI, data, software and engineering specialists, and stakeholder leadership in an international environment.
- A bias toward action, experimentation and measurable outcomes.
- Industrial AI, manufacturing, process industries, MES, digital twins, process optimization or industrial data experience is particularly relevant; deep Pulp & Paper expertise is an advantage but not required.
Required skills
- Modern AI technologies, including LLM-based applications, AI agents and workflows, machine learning and enterprise knowledge solutions.
- MES, digital twins, process modelling and industrial data.
Candidates apply online with their CV and a salary request by 29 November 2026; AFRY cannot sponsor visas or work permits.
