Electrical Owners Representative - Data Centre Project

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with a strong presence in the data centre sector, is recruiting an experienced Electrical Owners Representative to join its Data Centre team in Oulu, Finland. You will oversee the pre-construction, construction, commissioning and close-out phases of a hyperscale data centre project for a global technology client.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical pre-construction activities, including constructability in design, procurement and contracts, project planning and budget planning.
• Lead and manage electrical construction activities so the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
• Keep electrical designs aligned with the overall design intent and client expectations, and resolve issues arising during construction.
• Assist the design team with constructability and localization of electrical systems, and ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and safety protocols.
• Play a key part in procuring contractors and vendors, and manage subcontractors, vendors and suppliers to specification and safety standards.
• Be fully on site to inspect and supervise construction, manage health and safety on site, and give technical guidance and troubleshooting on electrical installations.
• Act as the main point of contact between the client and the construction team, advise the client and proactively identify and mitigate electrical risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in electrical construction project management on site, including data centre construction projects.
• Experience with Owner's Representation and working directly with clients, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of electrical design, construction methods and systems integration.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Availability for on-site work.

Required skills

• Project management: planning, scheduling and budgeting.
• Proficiency in construction management software such as BIM360, Autodesk applications and Primavera P6.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or LEED are a plus.
