Electrical Application Engineer – OTR

About the role

GE Vernova is looking for an Electrical Application Engineer to join its Power Quality team in Tampere, Finland. The team works on harmonic filter and reactive power compensation solutions for transmission and renewable energy applications. You will support the technical execution of customer orders in the Order to Remittance (OTR) phase, turning project requirements into engineering deliverables for transmission system operators, renewable energy projects and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Work with key equipment in harmonic filter and reactive power compensation systems, including capacitors, reactors and resistors, and associated high-voltage equipment.
• Support the technical execution of awarded projects so that engineering deliverables match customer specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare, review and coordinate technical documentation, drawings and related engineering outputs.
• Work with internal engineering teams, supply chain, project stakeholders and external vendors to keep technical information complete and accurate.
• Contribute to technical reviews, engineering discussions and clarifications throughout the project lifecycle.
• Help resolve technical queries and ensure work meets required standards, quality expectations and project timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Background or interest in power systems, substations, grid connections, high-voltage or medium-voltage applications.
• Exposure to project engineering, substation design, primary equipment, transmission systems or industrial power applications.
• Familiarity with high-voltage or medium-voltage equipment.
• Ability to turn technical requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Confident communication with engineers, project teams, vendors and internal functions.
• Professional proficiency in English; Finnish is an advantage.
• Direct experience with harmonic filters is not essential.

Required skills

• Engineering tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, AutoCAD and other internal systems.
• Beneficial: PowerFactory / DIgSILENT, PSCAD, Ansys, Creo or similar software.
