AI Governance Lead
Konecranes · Hyvinkää
Job description
About the role
The AI Enablement team in Konecranes' Digital Center of Excellence is looking for an AI Governance Lead in Hyvinkää. The role makes responsible AI practical: helping the company use and scale AI securely, compliantly and with clear accountability, without turning governance into unnecessary friction. It is a hands-on, cross-functional lead position reporting to the Director, AI Enablement.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and run practical AI governance: develop and improve AI instructions, usage guidelines, decision rights, risk tiering, controls and accountability, and embed it in existing risk, security, privacy, architecture, procurement and delivery processes.
- Lead AI triage and risk assessment for new features, applications and use cases, covering operational, security, data, model and third-party risks, and support incident handling.
- Turn requirements into technical and operational guardrails, working with architects and engineers on identity and access, data flows, API and tool permissions, logging, monitoring and human oversight.
- Govern third-party AI and emerging technologies, supporting vendor and SaaS assessments and defining expectations for external models and composable AI components.
- Build capability and communicate risk: act as a trusted advisor, deliver training and guidance, and report AI risk posture and key decisions to senior stakeholders.
Required profile
- About 7+ years of experience in AI, software engineering, information security, enterprise architecture, technology risk, governance or assurance in a complex organization.
- Solid understanding of generative AI, AI agents, data, models, prompts, retrieval, tools, APIs and human oversight.
- Knowledge of the EU AI Act, GDPR and frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO 27001 and OWASP guidance for LLM and agentic applications.
- Ability to turn regulatory, risk or security requirements into proportionate controls and plain-language explanations for engineers, business leaders and control functions.
- Nice to have: background in AI/ML engineering, information security or enterprise architecture; experience assessing cloud-based AI services; experience in a global industrial environment; fluent Finnish is a plus.
Applications are submitted in English via the company careers page with a resume and a cover letter, by 2 December 2026 at the latest.
