Tenure‑Track Business Analytics Professor (Assistant‑to‑Full)

About the role

Hanken School of Economics seeks a tenure‑track faculty member in Business Analytics at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor. The position is based in Helsinki within the Statistics unit of the Department of Finance and Economics and starts on 1 January 2027 (or later, but no later than 1 September 2027).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality, internationally recognised research in Business Analytics, machine learning, data science and related quantitative fields.
• Deliver undergraduate, master’s and doctoral teaching in both English and Swedish, including curriculum development.
• Contribute to departmental service, institutional committees and societal impact activities.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree (or near completion) with a quantitative research orientation for assistant‑professor applicants.
• Demonstrated international research excellence for associate‑ and full‑professor candidates, together with strong teaching records and service contributions.
• Fluent command of English and Swedish; teaching in Swedish is mandatory.

Required skills

• Machine learning and business analytics methodologies.
• Data science, statistics, econometrics, quantitative economics and applied mathematics.
