Sourcing Engineer – Indirect Procurement and Services

About the role

Saab is looking for a Sourcing Engineer for its Tampere site, within the Sourcing and Production team. You will handle sourcing for indirect procurement and services, supporting Saab's operations by giving internal stakeholders access to competitive, reliable and high-quality services, consumables and other indirect goods. The role involves managing relationships with current and potential suppliers and working with stakeholders across production, engineering, HR, administration and facilities. Occasional domestic travel to supplier sites, Saab locations and industry events is expected, around 5-10% of working time.

Key responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for assigned sourcing categories, including sourcing for investment projects, production and business operations.
• Manage and develop the supplier portfolio, covering performance, competitiveness, capability, capacity and risk profile.
• Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Lead sourcing activities such as RFQs, quotation evaluation, commercial negotiations and supplier agreement management.
• Monitor market developments, supplier capacity, pricing, contractual risks and service-delivery performance.
• Identify opportunities for cost efficiency, supplier development, demand consolidation and operational resilience.
• Ensure compliance with Saab's sourcing strategy, policies and procedures.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supplier management.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English.
• Commercial, analytical mindset, proactive supplier engagement and comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Analyse sourcing, supplier or commercial data in Excel or similar tools.
• Preferred: indirect procurement, service procurement or category management experience.
• Preferred: experience with ERP, purchasing or contract-management systems such as IFS.
• Preferred: experience in a high-technology, industrial, aerospace or defence environment.
