Parts Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Konecranes Global Parts and Retrofits Product Management supports spare parts business units worldwide, covering product management, pricing, spare part documents, availability and processes for new and old crane products, as well as technical support on spare part offers and orders. It is looking for a Spare Parts Mechanical Engineer to join its Parts Product Management team, based at the Hyvinkää headquarters in Finland. The engineer designs, coordinates and supports spare part mechanical engineering globally, owns drawings and redesigns items, and gives technical support to colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Spare parts mechanical engineering and drawing updates, including those linked to orders
• Product ownership of a selected spare part offering
• Technical support for product management, sourcing and quality teams
• Validation of supplier product quality requirements
• Equivalent and reverse engineering for part needs
• Support manufacturing process and technique validation for spare parts
• Business cases for engineering projects
• Develop new manufacturing methods (e.g. 3D printing, CAM) together with R&D and manufacturing

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical
• Several years of proven mechanical engineering experience
• Fluent Finnish and English, written and spoken; German is a benefit
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural organisation in a rapidly changing environment, with logical thinking, self-direction, collaboration and communication skills

Required skills

• Deep understanding of manufacturing techniques such as machining, welding and casting
• CAD software (e.g. Siemens NX, Vertex CAD or equivalent); 3D design software is a benefit
• Hands-on experience in manufacturing techniques and/or crane mechanics expertise
