Frontend Engineer (React)

About the role

Finnplay Technologies Oy, a Finnish software developer of iGaming platform technology since over 15 years, is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join its agile team in Espoo. You will work in an international team developing online gaming platforms, designing, implementing and maintaining frontend features and writing efficient, testable code. The role is based in Espoo and requires coming to the office at least twice a week.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain frontend features and user interfaces within established architecture and guidelines.
• Translate UI/UX designs and product requirements into clean, reusable components.
• Write well-structured, efficient and testable code, and perform analysis, development, testing, debugging and basic performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, backend engineers and QA on end-to-end features.
• Take part in code reviews and ensure responsive design, cross-browser compatibility and basic accessibility.
• Contribute to improving frontend code quality, tooling and workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology.
• At least 3 years of frontend development experience, with strong hands-on React.js experience.
• Experience building and maintaining web applications, in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• English communication skills; open-minded and adaptable.

Required skills

• HTML, CSS3, JavaScript and TypeScript
• React.js and a state management library such as Redux, Zustand, Recoil or MobX
• RESTful APIs and basic Node.js and frontend tooling (package managers, bundlers, linters)
• Unit testing and debugging
