Electrical Lead - Data Centre

About the role

Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company, majority-owned by CBRE Group, with a strong presence in the data centre sector. Because of the continued success and expansion of its data centre business in the Nordics, it is recruiting an Electrical Lead to join its data centre team in Oulu, Finland. The role is client facing, within a professional and ambitious team, and involves leading strategic commissions and high-profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage large-scale, complex data centre projects in the real estate sector, from feasibility, design, construction to completion.
• Develop and implement project strategies, plans and large-scale budgets for complex construction projects.
• Set up and maintain processes and systems used throughout the project, and monitor and report on progress and performance indicators.
• Manage and mitigate risks and issues, and prepare and present formal project reports.
• Coordinate the client, contractors and designers, attend and chair meetings and draft minutes.
• Prepare presentation materials for client pitches and update key information in the company's internal database.
• Provide thought leadership on trends and innovations in the data centre real estate sector.

Required profile

• University degree in an electrical or construction-related field, or a trade qualification.
• At least 12 years of work experience in construction, including large-scale mission-critical projects.
• Track record of delivering hyperscale data centre projects, ideally from inception to completion.
• Demonstrable experience in client-facing roles at all levels.
• Availability for on-site work.

Required skills

• Relevant qualification in project management or construction management preferred.
• Good knowledge of the construction industry and data centre sector themes.
• Good knowledge of the project lifecycle and business case approval process.
• Experience of master planning, strategic estate development and capital project planning is desirable.
