Java Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join CGI’s team that maintains and evolves business‑critical systems. You will be involved across the full software lifecycle, from development and testing to production support and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Create, implement and sustain REST APIs and integration points.
• Support and enhance production systems, handling incidents and problem management.
• Write and maintain unit, integration and API tests.
• Contribute to test automation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Java backend development, especially with Spring or Spring Boot.
• Proven track record working in production environments where stability and maintainability are critical.
• Solid SQL knowledge (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar).
• Fluent Finnish language skills.
