Legal Counsel – Finnish Branch (Banking)

About the role

Enity Bank Group is seeking a motivated lawyer to serve as the sole Legal Counsel for its Finnish branch. The role provides independent legal support for mortgage lending, consumer credit and day‑to‑day operations while collaborating with the wider Nordic legal team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to the Finnish branch on a broad range of matters.
• Support the mortgage business on lending, security, property law, consumer protection, debt collection and insolvency.
• Review marketing materials and customer communications for legal and regulatory compliance.
• Review and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Assist with customer matters, complaints and disputes.
• Monitor Finnish legislation and regulatory developments and support implementation.
• Advise on regulatory requirements and interact with authorities as needed.
• Prepare internal legal guidance and training.
• Support Group acquisitions and strategic transactions, including due diligence and documentation.

Required profile

• Finnish master’s degree in law with at least three years of post‑qualification experience, preferably in banking, finance or a regulated environment.
• Experience in banking and finance, mortgage lending, consumer credit, consumer protection, insolvency, debt collection or financial regulation.
• Ability to take ownership of matters, work independently and collaborate across functions and jurisdictions.
• Strong ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical advice and understand commercial context.
• Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English; Swedish is a plus.
