Competition Lawyer – Early Career (Helsinki)

About the role

EY is expanding its Competition Law practice in Finland and is looking for an early‑career competition lawyer to join the Helsinki team. This permanent position offers the chance to develop expertise in Finnish and EU competition law within a multidisciplinary, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with merger control and foreign direct investment (FDI) assessments, notifications and authority processes.
• Support collection and review of information for regulatory filings.
• Work on behavioural competition law, state aid and public procurement matters.
• Conduct legal and factual research, prepare analyses and draft memoranda, presentations and client materials.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and support project coordination on domestic and cross‑border assignments.
• Contribute to broader M&A assignments, including legal due diligence.

Required profile

• Completed Finnish Master of Laws degree or equivalent qualification.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in a law firm, in‑house team, public authority or similar; internships are a plus.
• Strong interest in competition law and motivation to develop expertise.
• Excellent analytical, legal research and written communication skills.
• Fluency in Finnish and English.
