Operative Quality Specialist

About the role

ABB is looking for an Operative Quality Specialist to join the IEC LV Motors factory in Vaasa. You will act as a bridge between production and other functions, driving continuous quality improvement and ensuring the final product meets high‑quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own and develop quality performance on the assigned assembly line.
• Organise and lead weekly Quality Circle activities, track improvement actions and promote continuous improvement.
• Support daily production by resolving quality issues and non‑conformances through structured problem solving and corrective actions.
• Develop, maintain and improve quality gates and control processes to prevent defects.
• Collaborate with engineering on process improvements, new tooling validation and product introductions.
• Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques and safe component handling.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc degree in a relevant technical field.
• Experience in quality control, assurance or continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to develop and execute test protocols and analyse quality data.
• Fluency in Finnish and good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
