Cyber Security Engineer – IEC 62443 Specialist

About the role

Quest Global is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to design, implement and maintain robust security solutions for industrial and OT environments. The role focuses on applying IEC 62443 standards to protect STATCOM systems and related engineering workstations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply IEC 62443 cybersecurity requirements across system design, deployment and maintenance, including system hardening and application whitelisting for PCs and engineering workstations.
• Configure and support DMZ infrastructure, manage Active Directory, syslog and jump servers, and maintain firewalls with appropriate rule sets and network segmentation.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, security compliance checks and remediation activities to mitigate identified risks.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT and OT teams to ensure secure and reliable operation of critical power and automation systems.
• Maintain alignment with relevant cybersecurity standards and drive continuous improvement of security controls and processes.

Required profile

• Relevant certifications such as IEC 62443 training, CISSP or GICSP.
• Experience with industrial/OT security, including STATCOM systems, network attached storage and data exchange servers.

Required skills

• IEC 62443 standards implementation.
• Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Data Exchange Server management.
• Active Directory, syslog servers, jump servers, and firewall configuration.
• Vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and security compliance.
• System hardening and application whitelisting.
