Solution Architect, Standardized Corporate Loans team

About the role

We are looking for a pragmatic Solution Architect who can operate comfortably between business and technology. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with architectural leadership, enjoys close collaboration with development teams, and translates complex business challenges into scalable, maintainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture runway for the Standardized Corporate Loans agile release train and support teams in designing complex, business‑critical software solutions.
• Communicate architectural decisions and trade‑offs effectively to both business stakeholders and engineering teams.
• Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, robust, and compliant technical solutions.
• Ensure solutions comply with security, risk, regulatory, and data‑governance requirements.
• Participate actively in solution design and software development, providing hands‑on technical guidance, proof‑of‑concepts, design reviews, and critical implementation decisions.
• Drive adoption of modern architectural approaches, including microservices, monolith, and event‑driven architectures.
• Conduct architecture and design reviews, identify technical risks early, and drive mitigation actions.
• Support teams with logical data models and solution‑level design details to ensure scalability and robustness.

Required profile

• Enjoys collaborating with business stakeholders to understand challenges and base architectural decisions on them.
• Thrives on combining hands‑on design work with strategic architectural thinking.
• Guides teams through complex technical challenges and is passionate about building scalable, maintainable solutions in a regulated enterprise environment.
• Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Has 10+ years of experience in software development, including guiding development teams.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with software architecture and system design.
• Designing distributed systems and service‑based architectures.
• Modelling techniques such as UML, C4 Model, sequence diagrams, and data models.
• Java, cloud‑native architectures, APIs, and event‑driven integrations.
• Event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka) and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Workflow orchestration platforms such as Pega, Camunda, Temporal, Zeebe.
• Microservices, monolith, and event‑driven architectural patterns.
