Service Engineer, Site Supervisor - Azipod Propulsion

About the role

ABB Oy, Marine & Ports division in Raisio, is looking for a Service Engineer, Site Supervisor who reports to the Manager, Field Service. You will supervise maintenance of ABB Azipod electric propulsion units, act as the technical point for customers and deliver quality service. The role involves about 100-150 days of mostly international travel to customer sites, with occasional visits to the Raisio office while in Finland.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and supervise mechanical service tasks for ABB Azipod propulsion units
• Supervise and carry out maintenance, installation, testing and commissioning of the systems in cooperation with the customer
• Advise customers on optimal service solutions in line with standard processes, procedures and safety guidelines, and maintain strong customer relationships
• Identify opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment and methods

Required profile

• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings
• Good communication skills, with interaction between the customer and the ABB team
• Good English is mandatory; Finnish is an advantage
• Experience in shipbuilding and knowledge of ABB products are advantages
• Degree in mechanical engineering or another technical background is a plus, but not required

Required skills

• Familiarity with MS Office software
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
