Service Engineer, Combat System

About the role

We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our team delivering the Saab 9LV combat system for naval platforms. The role involves commissioning, installation, and support of complex combat systems on ships, with travel mainly within Finland and occasional trips abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in projects from initial commissioning through final ship delivery and mid‑life upgrades.
• Install and integrate hardware and software components of the combat system on board.
• Collaborate with System Engineers, Software Integrators, sub‑supplier representatives and shipyards.
• Provide troubleshooting, repair and maintenance services to ensure system readiness.
• Travel to customer sites in Finland and internationally as required.

Required profile

• Fluent in Finnish and English, both spoken and written.
• Clear communicator, collaborative team player and self‑driven.
• Curious and able to learn new technical areas quickly.
• Solid technical background with a wide knowledge base.

Required skills

• Formal degree from a technical high school or equivalent.
• Experience with commissioning and installation of hardware and software.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair abilities.
• Service and maintenance knowledge.
• Understanding of functional diagrams and serial communication.
• Familiarity with network switches and Linux command line.
