Senior Software Engineer – iOS & Android (eMSP & Driver Services)

About the role

Virta is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of its native iOS and Android driver apps on Europe’s fastest‑growing EV charging platform. You will own the mobile experience used daily by millions of electric‑vehicle drivers.

Key responsibilities

• Shape the technical direction: drive architectural decisions for iOS and Android codebases, including modularisation, state management and navigation.
• Build the hard parts: deliver complex features such as RFID and driver‑management flows, and underpin white‑label apps.
• Define quality standards: establish testing strategy, review practices and release discipline, and lead incident response.
• Raise the team: mentor mobile engineers through design reviews, pairing and feedback.
• Drive cross‑team alignment: collaborate with backend, product and design to keep the driver experience coherent end‑to‑end.

Required profile

• Deep, demonstrated expertise building production mobile apps on both platforms (Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and Swift with SwiftUI).
• Strong command of modern mobile frameworks and the judgment to choose them deliberately.
• Fluency with modern concurrency – Swift Concurrency (async/await, actors) and Kotlin Coroutines/Flow.
• Track record of architecting maintainable, modular codebases with built‑in testability.
• Ability to operate independently, own significant technical decisions and see them through.
• Experience mentoring engineers and setting quality standards.
• Comfortable using AI coding tools as a first draft while applying the same review rigor.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work onsite regularly (hybrid) and residency/working rights in Finland.
