Senior Network Engineer (Linux Kernel & Drivers)

About the role

Sii is looking for an experienced networking software engineer to join a project focused on next-generation DPU platforms for hyperscale cloud, AI/ML and HPC environments. The role sits close to the Linux kernel and networking stack, developing and optimizing high-performance networking software, device drivers and packet processing solutions. It combines hands-on C/C++ development with system-level debugging, performance optimization and close collaboration with hardware, firmware and architecture teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance networking software and Linux device drivers for next-generation DPU platforms
• Design and optimize high-speed packet processing data paths
• Work with Linux networking internals and hardware acceleration technologies
• Investigate and resolve complex networking performance bottlenecks
• Debug and optimize networking software in complex production environments
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware and architecture teams on system-level solutions
• Take technical ownership of implementation and contribute to key architectural decisions
• Participate in code reviews, system integration, automation and CI/CD activities

Required profile

• At least 10 years of professional experience in networking software development
• Strong hands-on experience in Linux kernel and device driver development
• Proven experience solving complex performance issues in production environments
• Ability to take technical ownership of delivered solutions
• Very good command of English

Required skills

• Deep understanding of Linux networking internals, including the networking stack, netdev, packet processing and performance tuning
• Proven experience with Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6, TCP, UDP and high-performance packet processing
• Advanced C/C++ programming in Linux environments
• System-level debugging and performance optimization
• Git and modern software development practices
