Senior HVAC Service Technician

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a Senior HVAC Service Technician to lead the service, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of chiller and HVAC systems at customer sites across Finland. The role covers industrial, data centre and retrofit projects, working closely with customers and technical teams to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers and HVAC equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, mechanical, electrical and controls-related issues.
• Carry out repairs, component replacements, upgrades and retrofit activities.
• Identify spare parts needed and support parts selection and replacement planning.
• Record operating parameters and keep accurate service documentation and reports.
• Support equipment start-up and commissioning when required.
• Coordinate technical issues with engineering, product and service teams.
• Ensure work follows company safety standards and Finnish/EU regulations.
• Build strong customer relationships through high-quality service and technical support.

Required profile

• Solid hands-on experience servicing HVAC and chiller systems.
• Ability to work independently at customer sites with a strong safety mindset.
• Good English communication and service reporting skills; Finnish language skills preferred.
• Technical diploma or certification in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Preferred: experience with large air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, data centres or mission-critical environments, and previous commissioning experience.

Required skills

• Understanding of refrigeration systems, compressors, heat exchangers, pumps, controls and associated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical and control drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of chiller spare parts, component identification and maintenance planning.
• Basic electrical and controls troubleshooting capability; F-Gas certification or ability to obtain it preferred.
