Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Join Elisa’s Data & AI Team as a Senior Data Engineer, working on large‑scale data and AI applications that support multiple business areas. You will design, build and own data models and pipelines on Google Cloud, collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain data models and pipelines in BigQuery and Cloud Composer (Airflow) from requirements to production.
• Make technical design decisions, set standards for modeling, testing, code quality and documentation.
• Translate business needs into reliable data solutions and deepen domain knowledge.
• Continuously improve data operations, review code and collaborate with other engineers.
• Explore AI‑assisted development, share best practices and help integrate AI tools into the workflow.

Required profile

• Strong experience in modern data engineering or data‑warehouse modeling and production‑ready solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with other languages is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with major cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform.
• Ability to build infrastructure using IaC (e.g., Terraform), CI/CD pipelines and Git.
• Good communication skills in English and ability to work in a hybrid team environment.
