Senior Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a product company in Helsinki. The role focuses on building scalable data solutions and improving data platforms, working closely with developers, analysts and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Building and maintaining data platforms across Microsoft Azure.
• Working with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and Azure Data Lake.
• Developing data models and data warehouse/lakehouse solutions.
• Using SQL and Python for data processing and automation.
• Integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Improving data quality, performance, security and reliability.
• Collaborating with BI, software engineering and business teams.
• Contributing to data architecture and technical decisions.
• Supporting modern analytics and AI capabilities.
• Establishing engineering best practices around CI/CD and testing.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Solid experience with Azure data technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Good understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT and data warehousing.
• Experience with cloud‑based data lakes and lakehouses.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD.
• Understanding of data governance, security and data quality.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaborative approach.
• Fluent English; Finnish would be advantageous.
