Project Manager – Surface Drilling Product Transfer

About the role

Sandvik Mining’s Surface Drilling Division is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead product transfer projects across its production units. Based in Tampere, Finland, the role will also involve expatriate work from Pune, India, coordinating cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth engineering, sourcing, and production ramp‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, timeline, risks, resources, and engineering work, including preliminary sourcing plans and cost estimates.
• Lead cross‑functional and cross‑cultural teams comprising manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, and product management.
• Manage project stages with a focus on product cost control and schedule adherence.
• Oversee production ramp‑up, hand‑over to factory operations, and ensure quality delivery.
• Support the development and implementation of operational processes at receiving factories.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering (B.Sc. or M.Sc.).
• Formal project management training such as PRINCE2 (advantageous).
• Proven experience in project execution and delivery in large‑scale or heavy‑duty manufacturing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong financial understanding of production operations, sourcing, and engineering.
• Leadership experience in international, multicultural environments.
