Onsite Support Engineer (OSS)

About the role

The OSS Engineer provides onsite End User Services and production‑site IT/OT support to ensure stable and secure operations for the client’s manufacturing environment in Renko, Finland. Acting as the local IT representative, the role delivers hands‑on assistance for user devices, production workstations and IoT/OT equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite IT contact for business and production teams.
• Deliver deskside support for Windows PCs, laptops, mobile devices and tablets, including installation, move, add, change and decommission (IMACD) activities.
• Support Microsoft Office and standard corporate applications, manage hardware lifecycle, asset tracking and inventory.
• Participate in major incident resolution and business continuity processes.
• Provide first‑line support for production workstations, manufacturing execution systems (MES) and related interfaces.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and verify power, cabling and network connectivity of IoT sensors, cameras, gateways and edge devices.
• Assist automation and third‑party vendors during system maintenance and OT/IT integration tasks.
• Coordinate with Service Desk, Infrastructure, Workplace, Security, Automation and Network teams.
• Ensure compliance with client IT policies, safety requirements and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience delivering onsite IT support for end‑users and production environments.
• Ability to work directly with manufacturing equipment, IoT/OT devices and MES applications.
• Familiarity with hardware installation, cabling, power verification and network connectivity checks.
• Experience coordinating with multiple technical teams and external vendors.
• Commitment to follow IT policies, safety standards and incident‑management processes.
