Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Mercury is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead on‑site mechanical activities for complex engineering and construction projects in Helsinki. The role ensures compliance with Finnish regulations, manages safety and quality documentation, and coordinates daily operations with subcontractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all site works comply with Finnish statutory regulations and maintain required records for handover.
• Manage site safety in partnership with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including setup, administration, and closure of the safety file.
• Oversee site quality assurance together with the Mechanical Package Manager, handling QA file creation, management, and close‑out.
• Coordinate project schedule with other trades, package leads, consulting engineers, and client requirements.
• Control costs for the mechanical package, including subcontractor invoices, material deliveries, and equipment variations.
• Supervise day‑to‑day on‑site operations and subcontractor activities, tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels.
• Run weekly subcontractor meetings, manage the “In Progress” snagging system, and issue punch lists.
• Attend site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover sessions.
• Close out project items such as O&M manuals, punch lists, safety and QA files with support from the Mechanical Package Manager.
• Produce weekly look‑ahead plans, progress reports, risk updates, and maintain a photographic diary of the project.
