Mechanical HVAC Project Engineer – Data Centers

About the role

Johnson Controls is hiring a Mechanical HVAC Project Engineer to support data center projects across Finland. You will help deliver HVAC retrofit and installation projects, with a particular focus on chillers, working closely with site teams and stakeholders from initiation through completion.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC retrofit and installation projects from start to finish, planning, designing and implementing the systems.
• Carry out detailed site surveys and inspections to assess project requirements.
• Prepare and review submittals, including Method of Statements (MOS), risk assessments and work schedules.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients, internal teams and suppliers for approvals and clarifications.
• Provide technical guidance to site teams, supervise installation and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ensure installations comply with standards, codes and regulations, and monitor quality on site.
• Identify and procure materials and equipment, manage resources and track progress against schedule, budget and quality.

Required profile

• Experience in HVAC projects and system installations, with knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment and controls.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed submittals, MOS and other project documentation.
• Experience managing site execution and coordinating stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, codes and safety regulations; professional English.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, MEP contracting experience, knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or similar software, familiarity with project management tools, certifications such as CMVP, LEED or HVAC credentials, and working knowledge of Finnish.
