Mechanical Engineer & Automation Developer – Helsinki, Finland

About the role

We are seeking two experienced engineers to join our Helsinki‑based teams. The first position is an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer focused on large‑scale marine propulsion systems, working in a hybrid setting. The second is an Automation & SCADA Developer who will design and implement energy‑management and control solutions for production facilities, working fully remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for marine propulsion using 3D CAD tools.
• Create and maintain project structures, technical documentation and support the full product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.
• Develop SCADA and OT solutions, including distributed PLC systems for energy production.
• Implement integration protocols such as OPC UA, IEC‑104, Modbus TCP and ICCP.
• Write and maintain high‑quality software components for automation and ensure cybersecurity compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (for the mechanical role).
• 2–10 years of mechanical design experience and 5+ years of automation software development experience (for the automation role).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work both independently and in a team.
• Fluent in English; Finnish language skills required for the mechanical position.

Required skills

• NX, Teamcenter or other 3D CAD and PLM systems.
• Mechanical design and documentation.
• SCADA, OT, PLC programming (Codesys preferred).
• Industrial communication protocols: OPC UA, IEC‑104, Modbus TCP, ICCP.
• Automation software development.
