Mechanical Construction Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead the mechanical installation activities on a brand‑new data centre project in Helsinki. You will be responsible for coordinating on‑site works, maintaining schedules, and ensuring the delivery of a highly technical facility to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day mechanical installation activities and supervise a team of site supervisors.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments and all HVAC deliverables in line with project and safety criteria.
• Coordinate with the project team to sequence pipework installation and meet scheduled dates.
• Assess commercial aspects of the project, validate hand‑over from estimating and drive technical procurement of equipment and specialist subcontractors.
• Document and cost scope changes, prepare monthly valuations and final accounts.
• Maintain a two‑week look‑ahead schedule in collaboration with the project team.
• Ensure labour requirements are met and that health & safety compliance is upheld across all subcontractors.
• Review and improve ways of working, maintaining high housekeeping standards on site.

Required profile

• Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., B.Eng, City & Guilds, HNC/BTEC, NVQ).
• Proven experience in a similar role within a mechanical & electrical contracting environment.
• Experience on data‑centre projects is advantageous.
• Strong organisational, communication and time‑management abilities.
