Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will provide hands‑on technical support to ensure Chrysos’ PhotonAssay™ equipment operates reliably for mining customers. Based in Sodankylä, Finland, you will work closely with the global maintenance team, customers and our technology partner in China to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled monthly maintenance and respond quickly to breakdowns.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support via telephone, email and computer login.
• Train customers on safe operation and maintenance of PhotonAssay™ systems.
• Manage spares inventory and complete related documentation.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and continuous improvement of maintenance processes.
• Prepare fault records, conduct root‑cause analysis and contribute to safety initiatives.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in electrical, electronic or mechatronic engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience maintaining technical equipment and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent English communication and a customer‑service mindset.
• Willingness to travel within Finland and to remote mine sites overseas.
• Valid right to work in Finland and a current driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Technical troubleshooting of electro‑mechanical equipment.
• Electrical wiring, safety and power distribution.
• Mechanical maintenance, repairs and metalworking.
• Basic electronics and engineering drawing/design.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with ionising radiation and radiation protection procedures.
