Logistics Manager

About the role

Mercury, the European leader in construction solutions, is seeking a Logistics Manager for its Helsinki projects. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and controlling all logistics activities that support complex engineering and construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Strategically plan and manage project logistics from supplier delivery to on‑site off‑loading.
• Track site deliveries against schedules using the Procurement Schedule Report (PSR).
• Coordinate site logistics and traffic‑management routes, holding weekly stakeholder meetings on access and egress.
• Manage site safety in collaboration with the project team, ensuring safe vehicle operations.
• Organise storage of materials, monitor distribution, and maintain accurate records in the Eida system.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for plant, equipment and material procurement.
• Implement a ticketing system for site deliveries and control haulier access.
• Supervise subcontractors, ensuring compliance with traffic‑management plans.
• Control costs related to plant/equipment, off‑hire equipment when not in use, and manage site set‑up budgets with the QS.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing logistics for construction or engineering projects.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to lead stakeholder meetings.
• Experience in safety management and traffic‑control on large sites.
• Ability to negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors and manage budgets.

Required skills

• Familiarity with logistics planning tools and reporting systems (e.g., PSR, Eida).
• Knowledge of site safety procedures and traffic‑management planning.
• Competence in maintaining accurate logistics records and plant logs.
